Who determines the football calendar?
I understand there are some traditions in place (rivalries, thanksgiving game, the game division), but all other games are simply selected to obtain high ratings? ex. Saints / Colts … Bears / Chargers
All is done by computer. Last years division winner facing the winner of each division. The last years of last place teams play this team last. Some of the teams in opposite divisions (AFC-NFC) played only every 4 years. For example, the Jets played in GB last year and in 2010 will meet in New York. The day of the Thanksgiving game s are for Dal. and Det. Anyone who is scheduled to play that week. The calendar settings are rivals. Hope this helps.
