How can I alter my t shirt to fit me?
Soo, I got this super awesome Slayer shirt yesterday, only it’s a men’s large and I’m a short girl 
. How can I alter it *I.e make it a little less baggy and maybe a little shorter* so that it doesn’t fit me like an oversized dress?
It’s 100% cotton, I took a sewing class this semester and they said something about problems with altering jersey t shirts, whatever that means….
okay… so based on my experience, this’ll require quite some sewing. I would tell you to take apart the seaming and reconstruct the pattern… but that might take awhile
tshirts are HARD to alter. trust me. depending on the kind of “cotton” ‘you have (like stretch, stiff, preshrunk, etc.) it may be difficult to sew. like if it’s American Eagle fabric, then you’ll really have to know the settings of your sewing machine (because it’s stretchy). but i’ll let you figure that out on your own.
for a short girl and an XL tshirt, that baby has gotta get fitted towards your waist size. If you want a girl cut, fold INWARDS from the armpit to your sides. You might want to make –> ) ( <-- kind of shape just to give your waist some definition. For the sleeves, it is easiest to make it capped sleeves and sewing the bottom of the sleeve to tighten it. to shorten it, just fold in the bottom twice, obviously. It is imposisible to make the armpit higher because it's already cut out and you can only cut off, not add on fabric. :( sorry about that.
